What Are You Waiting On?

What are you waiting on?  There will always be circumstances and situations in your life that could hinder you from doing what you have a passion for or what you have been called to do.  There will never be a good time to get started.  There will never be the perfect situation.  All you have is now.  All you have is the blueprint that you have been provided either through prayer or intuition (which is the Holy Spirit).

Starting or operating a business takes time, money & patience.

Time is a rare commodity that should be used wisely.  Sometimes you will have to sacrifice hanging with family and friends to get things done.  There will be times when that annual vacation may need to be postponed in order to meet the due date of a project.  There may be long hours and sleepless nights to accomplish whatever needs to be accomplished.

Stop wasting time on things that do not push you to the next level.  When will you invest time on your business?  When will you make short term sacrifices for long-term gains?

Right before the COVID-19 pandemic hit I made a decision that I would focus more on growing my business. I was going to start being intentional about the time that I put into my business and my family.  The first thing I did was to put myself on a schedule.  The schedule included days that I would work and manage my business and days that I would dedicate to myself and my family.  During this process I lost some things.  I lost TV time, I lost phone time, and I lost wasted time.  However, I gained a relationship with God, I gained more time to get things done and I gained peace of mind.  Also, during this time, I added more beneficial activities to my life.  All of this was possible because I chose to allow God to be my CEO.

Depending on the type of business you have it may require more capital (money) than what you may have available.  In this case this requires planning, praying, and positioning.  Planning is determining what is needed and how much it will cost.  Praying is seeking God on what you need to do to get what you need. Positioning is to be in the place that God needs you to be so that the people, the banks, and the investors may provide what God has already setup.  There is money to be made no matter what business model you have.  Those that are your clients are your clients.  Do not allow your dream to be deferred because of lack of capital.

Patience. It takes another level of patience to operate and grow a business.  There is no over-night success.  If it happens overnight, it may not last.  I bet that most success stories were dreams, failures, and setbacks that happened as the growth of the business progressed forward.  Patience is understanding that right now you may be doing assignments for your business that doesn’t make sense.  You may be like me, an accounting business writing articles that are not always the “typical” articles, but you are doing what you are supposed to do.  Do not get caught up in the immediate results.  Continue to do what you have been instructed to do and the fruit of your labor with come forth. Watch for the small changes because those are the ones that matter.  The big changes are important and make you feel accomplished, but the small changes are the ones that will let you know you are in it for the long haul.

So again, what are you waiting on?
